UPDATED October, 2009. Coach Tom here. I love coaching the 70.3 program with the “Group Dynamic.” The one-on-one stuff, I just don’t enjoy it. Therefore, I offer ONE group, 70.3 Training Program per year.

I have a couple of good recommendations if you want individual coaching.

Tom Ryan, Dallas Athletes founder and president of Dallas Sports University, along with his assistants coach and direct all Half Ironman Training. Tom was voted back-to-back “Triathlon Coach of the Year” by Competitor Magazine. He is a four-time Ironman finisher, 20-year triathlete with multiple age group wins at regional and national races.

2010 Training Program

The original group training option for 2010 was the California Half Ironman-70.3 | March 27, 2010 | Oceanside, CA. That race is now sold out. Therefore, we are adding the New Orleans-70.3 on April 18, 2010 as an additional race. Both Oceanside and New Orleans athletes WILL train together. No interruption in training or scheduling will take place due to the sell out of Oceanside. Actually, New Orleans is A LOT better for some of the athletes since the travel time and expense is much less.

OCEANSIDE & NEW ORLEANS INFO. 

  • Saturday, October 10: There will be TWO Oceanside Q&A’s. The first is open to Dallas Athletes only at 10:30 a.m. The second is open to all interested athletes at 2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, October 26: 22-weeks of training begins. All athletes must live in the DFW area. The program is designed for active, group participation. If you’re looking to train alone, this is not the program for you!
  • Coach Tom is an active participate in your training. You see him A LOT!

NOTE: Pricing below is NOT for the Oceanside 70.3 Training! It is for individualized training only! Oceanside 70.3 pricing has “Pool School” and Strength Training options included.

Coach Tom’s GROUP 70.3 TRAINING!
LH1/2, Semi-Custom Training (T2SCT)
This is perfect program for the multisport athlete who wants to advance from Olympic distance triathlon to a half Ironman. This athlete seeks to improve triathlon performance, rest, proper nutrition, endurance and performance training.

T2SCT includes:

  • Weekly training schedule
  • Race specific schedule
  • Pre and post race group review for “A & B” races
  • Classroom sessions on nutrition, performance fueling, proper workloads for training/racing and TONS more priceless information!
  • Coached, group workout options for Dallas-Fort Worth athletes

Cost for 20-weeks of T2SCT:
DSU members - $499
Non-DSU member - $649

Strength Training (six-weeks) is optional, but HIGHLY recommended for all of Coach Tom’s athletes
