Tom Ryan’s two cents on Strength Training
- An extremely high percentage of injuries occur due to muscle imbalance & weakness
- The majority of athletes (weekend or otherwise) do not have the overall body strength to handle greater velocity or training workloads. Therefore, they get injured!
- When an athlete hears the words, “strength training” they ask “What do I do?”
- There is ZERO downside to a complete strength training program done correctly. I would wager over 90% of all developing athletes integrate a strength training routine into their training!
- I take Amy’s class. Every class I am served a big serving of “humble pie.”
- All of my athletes are required to take Amy’s program for a minimum of six-weeks!
