Meet the Staff
INTRODUCTIONS PLEASE!

TOM RYAN Professor of Sweat! Tom handles all multisport (triathlon) and swimming programs!
Tom Ryan is old, but still very immature! At 49, Tom is a 20+year triathlete. In 2005 & 2006, he was voted the Triathlon Coach of the Year by Competitor TX Magazine. He is four-time Ironman finisher, age group winner at countless national races, blah, blah, blah! I would be bored, too!
Tom is the president and founder of Dallas Sports University. He continues to be VERY active in the organization. You can find him at workouts at least five-days-a-week. He created, and still teaches the most successful program in the history of Dallas Athletes. His TRI 101 program has introduced nearly 500 folks just like you to the sport of triathlon! In 2008, Tom is offering four, TRI 101 classes, a couple of TRI 202. Tom also directs the half Ironman and full Ironman training programs!

KUAY SULLIVAN
Run Coordinator
What makes a runner a runner? I can’t speak for everyone, but for me it is that I run for the joy of running. It just makes me feel good. What I enjoy as much as running is helping others achieve their goals in the sport. Each race has a start line, and sometimes we need help finding it.
Through my involvement with Dallas Athletes, I have incorporated and learned speed workouts, fueling, proper recovery, and much more. I think what I have learned most is that the majority of the people that join Dallas Athletes want to have fun while achieving the next level of fitness.
I have coached runners to the finish line for 5k events to coaching them for local and national marathons. I have competed in sprint & Olympic distance triathlons and have run the Disney (’02), New York City (’02,’05), Chicago (’03,’06), White Rock Marathons (’04.’07)& Ironman Coeur d ‘Alene(’07). My biggest supporters are my husband, Joe, and two daughters, Trinity & Arwyn.
Half & Full Marathon Training, 5K Series Challenge, nutrition & health information sessions, club races, Runner of the Month and breakfast runs are just some of the training & fun events we have available. My commitment is to bring fun and fitness to the organization. If you are looking to energize your day with fun & challenging workouts, come join us!
Please feel free to contact me to find out more about our running events and schedules. kuay@dallassportsuniversity.com or 972-745-6809

DAVID STONECIPHER
Cycling Coordinator
To me there will always be something magical about how fast a human being can move themselves along on a bicycle using only their own power. I have always loved riding a bike, even as a kid trying to see how far I could jump my bike off a ramp made of a piece of plywood and a couple of bricks. I started road cycling in the early ‘80s riding my first bike rally in 1982 - a 16 mile ride from the East side of El Paso to downtown. I continued riding while at college at Texas Tech and after moving to Dallas in the mid 80’s. I gave up cycling for a time while homeownership and family responsibilities took precedent. Then in 2002, I started riding with Tom Ryan’s Dallas Athletes and very quickly rediscovered how much I enjoyed riding.
My goals for 2008 are all about providing a safe and informative cycling program for our members, with a particular focus on beginner and intermediate riders.
To me this means:
1) provide ride leaders for key rides to pace and direct the group;
2) provide training programs for selected bike rallies Hotter ‘N Hell 100 and MS 150, and
3) arrange for periodic cycling related presentations on topics such as cycling related laws, riding technique, and bicycle maintenance.
My ‘home team’ is made up of my wife Diana (DSU member since 2002!) and our three children (all triathlon veterans as well).
